|St Faith's Summer Barbeque, 2009|
Summer Barbeque at St Faith’s
St Faith's BBQ, which took place on Sunday 6th September, was held to celebrate the completion of the mammoth task of decorating the inside of the church, and also for the splendid work done on the gardens.
The weather was not the best for the BBQ as it was slightly cold, however everyone seemed oblivious to this as we arrived to find the BBQ's alight and ready to cook our favourite meats on, including burgers, sausages and chicken to name a few.
The main chefs of the evening, Tim Mitchell and Mike Woodward, took up their very important positions behind the BBQ's, armed with long forks in one hand and a can of beer in the other! They did a brilliant job of turning the meats to make sure not much was burnt in the cooking process!
There were also many tasty dishes of vegetable rice, pasta, salad and potato mayonnaise, along with many others, prepared and brought in by Doreen Peacock, Joan Worboys and Brenda Gardener and various other people to share! If this was not already more than enough, there were the most delicious puddings which enticed many of us to go up for seconds, thirds and even fourth helpings!
This wonderful evening was enjoyed enormously by members of St Faith's, along with some very kind, old and new, friends, whose help with the work achieved, was invaluable.
